DIY wedding invitations

So now that our wedding is over I can share some of my favorite DIYs from our wedding day!

This one was definitely a process, but it looks pretty dang close to my pinterest inspiration – so I’m calling this a win!

Overall yes it was “easy” it didn’t require all that much planning – but we took our time and this project took forever!

First , my inspiration for these invites:

I found this suite on pinterest, but wasn’t really wanting to pay the price! (I think it was something like 1200$ for 50 )

I mean they are gorgeous, we just didn’t have the money for that (does anyone?) and I knew I could recreate it.

We went to Woodworking in Bolingbrook, and picked up some wood veneer- which we then cut apart into 5×7 pieces, and stained in special walnut.

I picked up some glitter cardstock from Michaels and cut the 12×12 sheets to 4×3 and used a loctite spray glue to adhere them to the wood.

I printed my “invitations” on postcard paper from Avery- which I bought at office depot- trimmed to size, and glued those to the glitter paper with the same loctite spray glue.

For the RSVP cards I used my Cricut to write on them in a metallic gold pen.

My envelopes and rsvp cards came from papersource.

I assembled them, and tied them up with a navy and white bakers twine!

So happy with how these turned out! and with the exception of them returning to me with not enough postage , I would make these again.
